Project shaped around improving the understanding of care costs for users and people who support them. Our vision for the project was a service that supports people to make good choices about [paying for] their care, based on accessible, easy to understand information and a transparent process.
Phases
Discovery
Our focus for discovery was to research the staff and residents experience to understand more about: What their understanding was of social care charging? How they found apply for help towards costs? How they may have accessed support in relation to applying for help? What their thoughts on contributing towards care were?
Alpha
The focus for alpha was around three themes: Information, advice, and guidance; Financial assessments; Process communication and training. Our goal was to understand how information prototypes would help with: Understanding how to navigate care; financial support eligibility; communication; consistent conversations.
